Night. The small island of Ushant, Brittany, West France. In the village of Lampaul near the docks, someone is running into an alley. His back against the wall and panting heavily. Blue jeans with the right knee open and bleeding. A torn white shirt and bare feet. His name is Mickey Mouse and tries to catch his breath. He groans at his injured knee and holds it with both his hands, trying to stop the bleeding. He then thinks, takes a deep breath and begins to concentrate. He holds his hands around his knee and closes his eyes. His hands make small circles around his wound which very slowly begins to close up. He grunts because it hurts a bit. The wound is almost closed when he hears noises and men yelling. He stops healing himself and looks around the corner with both eyes. He sees two men walking in combat armor and holding rifles, one short and fat and the other long and skinny. They were known as Jasper and Horace, members of the Elemental High Command which rules the whole of Europe, parts of Asia and Southern Africa.
Horace: 'Jasper, do you think he got away?'
Jasper responds by grabbing Horace and hold him closely to his face.
Jasper: 'If we lose him, we lose ourselves. You know what happend to Foulfellow and Gideon. Both turned inside out because they failed.'
Jasper let go of him and he fell with his bottom into a barrel with fish which tickled him.
Jasper: 'Stop playing around. Sykes would have our hides.'
Mickey looked at the two when a cat jumped down behind him and moved his side against Mickey's legs which scared him with surprise and in that surprise a bottle that stood in front of him on a barrel fell forward and shattered on the ground. Jasper was pulling Horace when he heard the shatter and activated the searchlight on his rifle and aimed at the alley.
Jasper: 'Over there in the alley. Let's go.'
Horace finally got out and pulled out a squid from the back of his pants and threw it away. He too activated his searchlight and followed Jasper. Mickey was panicking slightly and looked around for a way out but other then the way he came in, there was no way out except the fire escape which he tried pulling loose but to no avail. Jasper and Horace got closer and closer and just as they were about to move in...
'Privates Jasper and Horace!'
Both men starteld and dropped their rifles and held their right hands next to their face as of to salute. A large man came out of the shadows smoking a cigar and wearing glasses. His name is Bill Sykes, one of the most ruthless commanders in the Army.
Sykes: 'What are you nincompoops doing? I want you to find that fugitive!' He yelled loudly. Mickey saw his chance to find a different route out while his pursuers were busy.
Jasper and Horace: 'Commander Sykes sir!'
Jasper: 'We saw the fugitive in this alley sir!'
Horace: 'But Jasper I thought we went in here to find a noise. And ehhh... did I saw something too?'
Jasper: 'You were stuck in that barrel playing with the fishes.'
Horace: 'So if I was stuck in a barrel, how could I see it then?'
Jasper: 'No. I thought I saw someone in the alley.'
Horace: 'And this someone is the fugitive?'
Jasper 'I don't know.'
Horace: 'So if you don't know, why are we going over here?'
Sykes was growing more impatient and angrier at the two argueing about nothing.
'SHUT UP YOU IDIOTS!'
Jasper and Horace stopped immediatly and saluted again.
Sykes: 'Get in there and look.'
The two went in but without their rifles.
Horace: 'Hey Jasper, how are we supposed to look here if we can't see?'
Sykes picked the rifles and threw them in the dark alley. He heard an OW from both of them. But before the lights went on, Mickey jumped in the shadow of the building and disappeared even when the searchlight passed over it, revealing nothing. Mickey focused and concentrated to keep himself hidden in the dark. He then moved toward the fire escape which had come loose during the argueing. He glanced one more time at them. But then he tripped but managed to grab the fire escape with both hands without falling completly but it disrupted his concentration and he was no longer invisible and the searchlighs faced him directly.
Sykes: 'Get him you fools!'
Jasper and Horace opened fire at him but Mickey quickly climbed the fire escape dodging bullets with great speed and was in no time on the roof. Horace and Jasper set out after him but were slower. Mickey ran from rooftop to rooftop. He reached the final one but then a great fire emerged from the edge of the roof. Mickey stopped and slipped down. He looked up and from the flames emerged a tall and very slender figure, haughty eyebrows, brown eyes, twisted goatee beard and clasped in armor with fire all around him. He is known as Jafar, Master of Fire.
Jafar: 'Leaving so soon?'
Mickey crawled away backwards from Jafar.
Jafar: 'Our questions have not ended yet.'
Mickey stood up with a determined face.
Mickey: 'Questions?! You beat and tortured me!'
Jafar: 'Why so angry? It's not like you could face me, let alone beat me.'
Jafar stepped closer to him. Mickey's heart was beating hard and loud.
Jafar; 'Alas, it will end now.'
Jafar spewed fire from his mouth in the attempt to light Mickey. But surprisingly, Mickey held up his hands, closed his eyes and the fire beam bounced of a shield that enveloped around Mickey.
Jafar was surprised and fired twin fire beams from his hand palms. Which deflected too but it did push Mickey toward the edge of the roof. Jafar knew this and continued firing. One more blast and Mickey fell over the edge but luckily his fall was broken by an old bed. He took his chance and ran out of the alley. But then around the corner he faced a rifle right at him held by Horace.
Horace: 'Got you now.'
Mickey raised his hands in the air in the hopes that his shield would bounce off the bullets. But then he looked Horace straight in the eyes and Mickey's eyes turn glowing black. Horace petrified and started to panic.
Horace: 'Please no jail. No more jail!'
Mickey heard Jasper and Sykes yelling for Horace and ran away from Horace. He ran until he was at the edge of the docks leading to the open sea. He was stuck, nowhere to go.
Jafar: 'Leaving again?'
Mickey turned at faced Jafar with hands blazing with fire and Sykes, Jasper and Horace aimed their rifles at him.
Mickey: 'I'm not going back!'
Jafar: You act like you will escape this encounter but you will not... alive.'
Jafar aimed his hands at Mickey and sends a fire storm at him. It engulfed him completely. Then they heard a splash. Jafar ceased his fire and walked toward the edge of the dock at the water. A circle in the water and bubbles around indicated someone fell in recently.
Jasper: 'Now what boss?'
Sykes takes Jasper's rifle out of his hands and clubs him on the head.
Sykes: 'You don't talk to an Elemental Master unless spoken to first!'
Jasper: 'Sorry. But you could said so.'
That made Sykes more mad and wanted to club again...
Jafar: 'Enough! He was in that fire almost a minute. He couldn't survive that and he can't hold his breath this long. He's finished. No longer the problem. Our greatest challenge lies across the Atlantic. That so-called Empire. It will fall. Like the many others before.'
They left, teleportation style by Jafar. Then a hand reaches out at the dock. Mickey survived! But summoning a shield to keep himself from drowning for a long time weakened him a bit. He saw his golden chance. In the morning, he found some clothes in the houses of the village as well as food and water. He brought it all in one motor boat. He also puts fuel gaskets in it for the journey across the Atlantic Ocean is long and trying. He was now more then eager to find the fabled Empire with people just like him. He set out hoping to be alive by the time he reaches it.
